Frank Berger

I started to write songs in 2014. First it was a small hobby, but it soon developed into something bigger. 

I have won two competitions, and both times it's been a shared first place. The competitions were the Tonsätt Torvalds -competition in Turku 2016, arranged by Åbolands litteraturförening, and a competition arranged by Helsingfors sång- och musikförbund 2017. 

Some of my projects as a composer:

• Stenarna Viskar, a musical theatre I've written (script and music) for Aurorakören in Turku. Will be performed 2026.
• Spirit Land, together with textile artist Emma Göransson, performed in 2025.
• Många röster - Many voices. I made this musical composition from a poem by Karin Boye, as a part of the Science and Art Festival Forcing the Impossible. Performed in Turku, as a part of the Aboagora Festival, in August 2022.
• Together with Ulf Långbacka I wrote and perfomred the music Invisble Spring for Åbo Akademi University's Doctoral conferment ceremony 2022.
• Pienen tähden laulukirja - Den lilla stjärnas sångbok, sold by Opera Tellus. The book contains seventeen children's songs, composed by myself. Lyrics by Tia Svanberg. 2020.
• Löfteslandet. A singspiel for choirs, soloists and band. Henrik's church,Turku 23.4.2017.
• Löfteslandet II- Jericho Edition. A singspiel för choirs, soloists and band. Henrik's church, Turku 8.4.2018.
• Me and my friend and co-worker Isa have written a musical theatre play named Blåeld. I composed all the music. Due to the corona pandemic, the performance of the play was postponed, and it's still unclear when it will be performed.
• I've written a children's musical named Jul i skogen - Metsän Joulu, for Opera Tellus in 2021. It's unclear when it will be performed.
